Some friends went down to Ilwaco over the weekend and got there fish in the ocean in 1.5hr off the red line hope that helps. Partner got one 28 tonight "wow" pics coming
Ya--they are in a bit closer than normal--normally around CR and out 5 miles or south. Being on the red line, there should be some Kings in there--they like it between 2 and 4--I have caught a couple 40+lbs in there over the years.
But after fishing tuna last year--it is all about the tuna and salmon on the way back in
.Last year we had several days that it would take from 45 minutes to 2 hours to limit--sweet fishing down there--and in the next couple weeks they should be hitting the mid teens+ for the coho's--Alot of bait out there talking with the bait fisherman.

But he still needs a a lesson on how to net fish. Not sure how he'd do at gaffing tuna though. I've got an extra 10 ft gaff if he needs/wants practice.
