Fish Lake

Anyone been up yo Fish Lake yet? It's gotta be getting close--- Sugarloaf is calling

I was wondering that myself. We're spose to go over in a week and I hope there will be somthin to ride on. Looks like there grooming so they must have gotten enough to do a little run.

I usually take a look at the State DOT cameras and click on the Winton Cam.
It's just a ways past the Fish lake cut-off and it will give you an idea of how much snow will be at the snow parks.

It's a little lower than the lakes so there will be more snow at the snow park than what shows on the camera.

We'll be over the day after Christmas.. About six of us-- come and join us. We will probally do napotac ridge. It's snowing like crazy here in downtown Ollala right now.

Same here. Hopefully we can do more than road ride. Napotic looks like it would be interesting if we had the snow coverage like last year.

Yes, I have been out!

I brought 5 buddies to my cabin on Fish Lake ... and we went out last weekend (12/13). I would guess 16" of fresh beautiful powder (very dry) was on the ground. We did a night ride to Snowcone. Had a blast. Since then it has snowed another 12+ " so I would guess we are around 30" now ... snowing very hard all day today, and tonight.

Heading over in a few minuets, but have to be back on Saerday fo a Christmas party. By the way, The i don't think the miner's ridge snow guage is where you think it is, it is up near Suiattle Pass. Pope ridge is up the Enitat and showed 16.5 inches last nite. you could probably average the two and be close to the amount on Sugarloaf? That would make 32.5" as of 10:00 last nite. I might try and check tomorrow, if i'm brave enough to take the new sled for a long trip in -15 degree weather!

Sugarloaf is going to have a lot more than 32". There is near 40" of beautiful powder at my cabin at Fish Lake ... and that is at 2500 ft elevation. I wouldn't be surprised to find 48" plus at Sugarloaf peak. I'll let you know asap :)

I hate to give the bad news but someone's gotta do it. Went to Sugarloaf lookout today, then out to miners. Some roads have been groomed but very small pack. The thought of ever jumping off the road never crossed my mind. The amount of land mines and the junk that wasn't even covered up out there was surprising! I expected a lot more snow than we found, kinda sad. It's gonna take a lot more!

I heard similar reports. Still too early yet. Maybe this big azz windstorm will blow the snow over to the other side for us...:)
