Fish Lake snowparks are closed

The US Forest Service just issued the following closure notice:

“Sno-Parks and trails are closed to public use until further notice due to falling tree hazards caused from heavy snow loads.”

Have heard that power will be out in certain areas for at least a week and not back to full operation for a month.

Oh boy just made my way out of there today at 530 pm, sign was posted as we drove out, sounds like they closed the pass right behind us today.

One thing is for sure, all trails are groomed and in great shape, not may people riding today. We rode from Fish Lake all the way to Sugar loaf it was fogged in. The south face still needs 2 or 3 feet of snow, lots of land mines for sure. We had to cut our way back out, lucky for us the big trees that fell we got around.

Hey guys feel your pain, 1 tree on main cabin, 1 on small cabin 2 more fell on grounds and at 4 more not sure but are aiming for the buildings. For anyone reading this it is no joke! just think of it this way, every tree around you could let loose at any time and fall, but not knowing which one and what way it is going to fall and your in 4' of cascade crud trying to get out of they way! If you don't need to go don't go:face-icon-small-fro

Well I dont do it often but I give up going to slamon la sac instead should still be fun. Only ridden over there once at night a few years ago. We went 5 days without power once and that was long enough for sure even with a wood stove and a fresh water supply. I hope things get better over there for everyone.

Stevens is now closed from falling trees, what a bummer for all you guys with places on the other side!
