Greg and I got out today for a little rip on Sale Mt. About a foot of snow and we were hitting rocks, but it was good to get out again. Just had to be super careful.

The Husaberg is a 2013 FE501 and the KTM is a 2013 500 EXC

Basically they are the same? I am ready to pull the trigger on a 14 500EXC. Giving some thought to the close ratio vs wide ratio. Still would like to use the bike in summer. Both bikes the KTM and Husaberg work well? Any set up differences? Appreciate the help

Yes sir. A couple more tweaks in store for it this year. A smartcarb, CPI race pipe and a head shave should give me another 8 to 10 HP up high. And maybe a 25 snot of NOS, just to get into the 3 digit area

Ya they're basically the same. The FE 501 is more like the 500 XCW though. The 500 EXC has a different ECU, which is not programmable, and has a few less HP than the other two. I believe the tranny is the same on all three, maybe a different final ratio on the EXC, but they work great.

The ecu is programmable on the 500 exc. Don't know code but it is euro code 701 something.

Just curious as to what you did with the filter on the Berg ? I'm setting up a 2011 450 FE when my kit arrives. Also what engine oil is best for the winter on these bikes ?
