First time shooter today! I'm Proud!

Thought I'd share some positive news. Took my girlfriends daughter out for her first time ever shooting a gun. Taught her the range and weapons safety. I was proud that she kept to the safety standards I expected of her and the fact that she shot well and better than I expected for a first timer. I was even more proud that she had so much fun that she wants to hang one of the targets she shot up in her room. (she originally wanted it in her locker at school but they may frown on it.) I started her out on my 9mm Storm Carbine. Then after she got the hang of that I upgraded her to the AR-15.

After everyone else left the range I let her rip off 20rds. She had a blast.

And like any female she tends to aim for the low vitals!

Nice work. I can remember my dad taking me out plinking when I was just a little tyke. Started with .22's and moved up from there. Great memories! Oh, and nice gutshot grouping.

After talking to the Mrs. the last couple days I forsee another AR, .50bmg and Dillion 650 reloading press in my near future. Easy sell with Obama in the picture.

You can find that stuff pretty easy here in town. I just wish the economy was a little better so I would have some money to actually buy one.

I started instructing in the early 90's. It is amazing how much better shots girls(women) are then guys!. After 19 years of teaching I have decided that guys just cant concentrate when other guys or girls are around (unless forced).
I'm glad to hear what you started with (safety) most macho guys just want to hear the guns go off, and watch the girls flinch!. Proud of ya! keep up the good work!!

always enjoy seeing more first time shooters.. Good job. We got a buddy's mom to shoot with us yesterday, she usually gets all mad when she sees us carrying and she finaly shot, next week her daughter is going to come, and she's even worse about hating guns. I love seeing people who hate guns finaly shoot, and there opinions change veryy fast once they see its fun.
