First time advice?

I can ride a sled. I can ride a dirt bike. Never ridden a snowbike.

Tomorrow I'm renting a Timbersled from NxtLvl in Alpine. I picked the 120" on the 450. Good call or should I switch to the 500 with the 137"?

Any advice that will make my day go better?

Thanks in advance.

Don't worry about it. You'll be fine. My buddy who bought my old rig is shredding the same terrain as us in 20 minutes. You WILL fall over and have to dead lift the bike. It happens. Don't ride with sleds. Look where you want to go.

I'm an avid dirt biker and was an avid sledder.

I personally like the 450 better then the 500. The low rev limiter on the 500 is annoying.

My tips:

When coming to a stop, do not put your foot out and try to lean over. Try to static balance like a trials rider on dirt when you come to a stop

Stay in the lower gears and keep the Rs up when climbing

You can easily switchback your way up steep hill

Don't try to counter steer

Keep your speed up and stay on edge when turning on the trail

Drag the brake for a while if you are coming up to a hill and want the brake to actually work

Have fun! It's a blast!

don't worry

Nice big meadow.

Put my grandson's on my first not so good handling snow bike 4 years ago.

simple instructions, grab three gears fast, then ride around and have fun. 14 year old boys took 150 ft to figure it all out.

This year is my first on a snowbike. Like was stated earlier do not try to put your foot out and lean over when coming to a stop. It seems like 2nd nature to do it but unless you want a lot of practice lifting the bike back up don't do it even on trails or packed snow.

The trail is not where these things shine, It was easier my first ride if I could keep it of the packed trails. Revs are also your friend, it is hard to imagine wringing the guts out of a 450 but it is possible in the snow and is necessary in some conditions. If earplugs are available use them, it has helped influence my right hand to twist a little more. Make some room in your garage, these things are addictive!
