first start on new apex motor

Any suggestions on how to be sure that there is proper oil pressure

On both my motor builds I've just fired it up. If oil pressure is to low the sled will shut it down with code 30 anyway.

If you have a boondocker turbo then it is extremely important that you are aware of the prefilter in the Oil RES!!

When your last motor went it let thousands of little shavings of metal go too.

These little shavings plug the prefilter in the Boondocker Res. Which has resulted in many second motors going bad due to low oil pressure.

The prefilter is located under the Res, held on by two screws. It is real important to remove the res. clean out the filter, clean out the Res. before you add oil and start the engine for the first time.

Its a Alpine 2871 kit and I figured it out you take the smallest line off of your oil bag and plug the hose and then put just a small amount of pressure on the bag and crank it over with the fuel pump unhooked and that how I got oil pressure cause there is a check valve in the line to the oil pump.
