So, today finally got to put some break-in miles on the pro and clutch side was completely clear of any snow, but QD was basically covered in snow and ice. Anybody else having a problem with this? What did everyone else do to fix it? would prefilter material help along with being cheaper than buying vent kits? Or is the snow being scooped in through the hole under the drive belt? Sorry, a lot going on here open for ideas

i noticed a bunch on snow in mine too. Seemed that i got a buildup of snow in the footwell and board. then when kicking it free it got kicked through the footwell into the belt drive area. didnt notice any issues from it.

I had the exact same thing happen with my sled yesterday when I finally got it in some powder. I ordered the footwell vent kit, I'm hoping it keeps the snow out of the drive belt area.

Noticed this also. Had problems all the time with my 12 last year getting belt on the drive belt and slipping so I built some vents for them. Will install this week. Wondering how much that stupid hole on the bottom is contributing tho. All that water on the belt all the time cant be good for it.

Skinz rode today in 4 foot of pow snow everywhere and none on ethier side works great!

I just got my Mike Taylor footwell plate/vents... putting them on next week!

IMO... mandatory on the PRO.

.

I noticed my QD side was full with snow and ice too! I have mike taylor footwell vents but i think all the snow is coming from the exit hole for the exhaust! I have a ggb can and noticed alot of room for snow to come in! Idk for sure but might fab something up and see if that fixes it!

I have mad fabs footwell vents and snow is still getting in. Stock can. It must be coming from the hole below the belt.

Do you have pics? I have a GGB can on my 2013 Pro and mine seems to fit good. I will attach a pic of mine. I would think a guy could put another piece of high temp. rubber in over the factory one to form a tighter seal.

I put hi temp silicone around the bottom of my can to fill that opening. It's worked good for that so far. Did that on my older sleds in years past as well

Mine had some snow the first day breaking in the belt. Not as much as my '11 or '12 - I've weighed the chunk that would solidify to about 4lbs of fun. The 13 had about 1" of accumulation after about 3 hours. I removed the frozen stuff the next morning and got after it more and actually had less accumulation but I also have my knees against the console on all carving downhills and most general sidehilling. Once I moved my foot back a little, gobs of snow fills betwen my leg and console/footwell but didn't automatically fill up the QD. I think the spinny things also throw the snow back out. Will screens help? Probably. I'll be spending more time figuring how to stop the running boards and tunnel sides from turning snow to slush.

Foot well vents will help a ton. we had 5 new pros riding last weekend in good deep snow. i had the vents nobody else did (made my own) and it sure makes a difference. I was still gettin a fair amount of snow in through the bottom of the qd drive where the hole is from the factory for last years chaincase drain. Im going to adress that issue tonight.

This used to happen to me also until I got the air frames on my 11. The new Pro's foot boards should work the same way. You need to get out of the habit of kicking forward to clear your footwell. Now you can just pull your foot back and it will clear. It takes a bit of getting used to but it works and it will never poack in there either.
