More of a reconnaissance mission than anything, that came into play over a few beers the night before. We geared up and got our iron steeds loaded for the beginning of winter 2009/2010 in a pursuit for fresh powder, sick lines, and well, a Christmas tree.
Well it wasn't long into the ride that the rigors of riding and limits being pushed too far claimed the first and only victim of the day. We bowed our heads, said our goodbyes, and pushed further into no-mans land as I bravely and courageously led my group into an area that was known to the natives to claim many victims. Some returned, some didn't... Although this was a risk that we were all willing to take, we soon learned later, it was in fact worth it. The powder was deep, the sleds were tuned and the riders were blessed from previous years of experience and talent not usually seen in these parts and therefore tamed the land in what we'll call a dance with precipitation. The rest, my good friends, is history............. almost literally.
