First ride on nytro push turbo

took up my new addition to the family on the mt today. 2010 nyto push with 162 track 250 miles. I have never riden a boosted sled no less a yamaha and other than the crap snow seemed to pull really hard. Couple things from you guys.

1. Under initial accleleration seems to hear a miss or something coming into power. hard to explain because i could not really tell that is was loosing power just different? is this just the turbo or exhaust?
2. What is the RPM specs for this sled. I was in the 9200 range the couple of times i dared to look down and try to hold on and try to read the little numbers on the gauge.

Thanks for the input.

Mine has that low end bobble too and I have ridden another boosted Nytro with the same issue. i was told it was very common with nytro's for some reason. I tried to tune it out but was not successful.

As far as RPM there is a rev limiter and you will hit it on hard snow. I would suggest waiting until you can get in deep snow to determine what RPM you are pulling under load.

These things are a riot to ride...gas and go as often as possible!:face-icon-small-ton

you want it around 86-8900 rpm in good snow, that little bog is where your turbo starts to spool, you can get rid of it but not with the cheap dobec box its a fuel issue.

I wanted to bring this up again... I have this bobble also on my new push turbo..... Does something like the fuel controller from oft work for solving this problem on my 2008 Nytro with a stock push turbo...

under hard acceleration from the get go you may hear/feel a "miss". this could very well be you hitting the rev limiter off the line, which is not a problem if it just happens off the line. but you need to bring your top end rpms down to the 8900 range

Maybe that's the issue holding full out in deep powder...3 footish ....at most I hit 8400.... I hit 8600 when there is about a foot over base... So I will mess with the clutching a little.... Thanks.

So it turns out my air filter was icing up.. Because it was so cold out... About 10 degrees and 4 feet of early season bottomless powder.... I have gone out 4 times more and it is fine now...it has been 20 and above in powder... Also my new track is loosening up which is helping the power delivery... I am going to 90 my air filter to help keep the snow off it...

With my MPI Turbo, I have to be on the air filter every time I stop just to make sure its not iced over.

Secondly doing the clutching on the nytro isnt to bad at all.

If you go look at my thread that i have running on my MPI turbo install you'll find it around page 9 I think. A step by step run through on the clutching I did. Youll just have to decide how much weight you want to add.

On the topic of the initial acceleration. That bubble at the beginning can be fuel or it can just be the fact that your turbo is spooling up.

It looks like everything is good.. I have ridden about another 150 miles on it... I am adjusting for a little more fuel in the beginning to see fit hat will help.. I will update after I test... this turbo has changed the sled to a joy to ride.., that is for sure....WE NEED SNOW!

Its so amazing how much more fun the Nytro become to ride when they are boosted. I love mine so much more now!
