First ride on my new Pro-Came off 2010 M8

Well, today was the first time I actually put miles on my new Pro, and I truly couldn't be happier. I felt like a baby deer trying to walk for the first hour, but after I got the hang of it I'm not missing my Cat-other than the fast spooling motor.

Here's what I think is better than my Cat was:
Skis
Handlebars and stiffer steering post
More comfortable seat
Better stock running boards-still had some buildup, but better than stock M's
Fuel and oil economy
Gauge features-coolant temp
Flickability
Skid set up-Just flat out stays on the snow and momentum is huge compared to the Cat
Lots I can't think of

The only things I'm not a fan of are:
No easy access to under hood stuff-still working on a muff pot mount from woodsrider and zip-tying a Cat goggle bag to the frame
Umm... that's it!

This sled is so unbelievable. They way it stays on the snow is insane. It keeps so much momentum by the time you get to the top of the hill it feels like you are going twice as fast as you would be going on my M. After 55 miles I am confident I am as good on it as I ever was on my M, and I think I will be able to take it to new levels now. For a guy that bleeds green, I'm very impressed, and don't think I'll be switching back any time soon!

welcome! i also came off an M and absolutely love the pro!!! know exactly what you mean about how it floats. doesn't have the drag going through the pow that the M does and gets right up on top and stays there:) the more you ride it the more you'll like it, got almost 700 miles on mine and it still surprises me. i thought the M carved great until i got my pro, can get the thing whipping from bar to bar so fast and tight its all i can do to keep up, and sometimes i can't:)

goggle bag will fit above the can, goggles and gloves fit nicely on the head from the oil res. side when they need a quick defrost!

Oh yeah, forgot about the steroids I need to inject into my right thumb! Throttle pull is ridiculously stiff!

I love my pro also...but are you serious about the throtte pull? Its so easy....Im used to a skidoo 800R which pulls twice as hard as the PRO

Congrats. I have rode a few M8s and feel for how different they look they handle surprisingly similar. On the muff pot: I just mounted mine right where the silencer meets the pipe and it has worked out great. No problems getting food hot, just maybe put it on a little sooner. The side panel access sucks, no gettin around it for now. I am sure someone will come out with a better system. Have fun riding your new vroom vroom.

Installed muffpot tonite and it was pretty simple with the woodsrider bracket. Gas rack is on. no vents yet. put them on my haydays shopping list. Mine needs some clutching and gearing for the flat land. Can't hardly hold on to the bars to 40 and falls on it's face after that. I have the cure in the Polaris first aid box and will change after breakin. maybe your throttle cable needs a lube job, mine pulls very easy. I can already tell you this sled has more balls than This old man does LOL. Now if my son can just get rid of one sled and get another before the snow melts we'll be out. Heard you didn't like being a cross dresser and already got new threads. Mine will just have to haul me around in blue till haydays.
