First Ride On 16 Limited Totally Impressed

WOW, what a awesome sled! Did about 50 miles today in 2-3 feet of sweet fresh pow, I think I'm in love:heart: The thing just flat gets up on the snow and goes. Other sleds I've had when it gets that deep would go but you could feel the drag on the sled. This sled just seems to float right on top. Never had a 3 inch track before so don't know how much is the sled and how much is the track, but I could stop and pop right out of spots that my pro's would have been trenching mothers to try and get going. Still very early season here so stuck close to the roads and couple of hills and meadows that are pretty safe, but that was plenty to have me giggling like a school girl. Very well balanced and the way it carves just instills confidence to just keep pushing it further. Grabs an edge and holds it so straight and true, carving right above other cuts kept waiting for it to wash down but just kept on going. Can't wait to get a good base and spend a few days lost in the trees, I may never go home

don't let the poo guys read this. you will be beat with all the extra weight. and the thought of the motor going poop had to keep you out of the flipper fo sho.
it will only get better with based up snow.

Feel the same about this sled like I did the first ride I had on my 11 Pro. It just fits me and my riding style. Read an article about this sled where the reviewer was saying Cat really should have changed the plastic and headlights and called it a new chassis. Guess you really can't understand that statement till you actually get to ride one:) Cat really should have put a push behind this version of the Proclimb and did a demo tour. I don't see how any tree rider who spent even part of a day on one would not be impressed.

Yeah yeah, good sled blah blah whatever.

Where did you ride? I'm itchin :D

I put the 2016 front end on my 15 M this yr and got to put 44 miles on it last weekend as well. I cant belive how much of a difference it made! I cant wait to get in the trees

I got two miles on my 16 and was impressed. it ripped the bars out of my hands first time I hit it. my neighbor had a good laugh as I was laying on the tunnel

location? about?

I live in Roseburg and we rode out of a place called Three Lakes yesterday that is right by Diamond Lake. Some pretty sweet riding, have a couple of roadless area's where you can spend the whole day and only see a road on the way in and the way out. Nice to be able to ride all day and see no one and no other tracks but your own. Always looking for new riding partners.

In the second pic my grandson wanted me to take a pic of him ripping it up he made it about 10 feet before the sled started to carve and he fell off. Was funny watching him try to drag himself back up on the sled:face-icon-small-ton

I am! And I also have a new 2016 to ride.

My main riding partner is out for awhile and maybe the whole season. So I'm back to begging for partners, there just aren't many tree riders in my area. I'll be riding the next 3 days and almost every weekend of the season there is snow and not raining. Just get ahold of me anytime.

I HAVE NO FRIENDS CAN I RIDE WITH YOU? :)

Man, I sure wish I was closer! I'd be happy to ride with you!

I am in Spokane and it's quite a drive but, I could make it down once this winter perhaps.....

Southwest Oregon, you close?

Sort of (tahoe). I think you just convinced everyone to gang rush hwy 138.:face-icon-small-ton

I drive through that area all the time and have always thought it looked really fun if the coverage was there.

Wait till you get that thing in some real deep after low tide ends.

Spokane, Tahoe, heck you are just down the road;) If you guys ever plan on coming this way just let me know, would be more than happy to show you a day or 2 of some good riding.

Headed up tomorrow to burn the rest of first tank. Always like to get the first tank through and have a good base line before doing any engine mods

Damn, you definitely have coverage. If this cycle coming through later today doesn't do it here, I may bug you next weekend. Thanks for the hospitality. I've always wanted to check out bailey and the surroundings.

Is that resort right by there running yet?

Yes Diamond Lake Resort is open year round. We were supposed to get storm after storm for a week straight, one came in Tuesday-Wed but then it died, that is what we rode Wed. Didn't snow again until we were loading up today. When we unloaded today it was 37 and all the pow had turned to mashed potatoes:( Great if your a gravy fan but not so much for sledding! We still need another 3-4 feet before it will be safe to hit the trees. We did a little today and my buddie caught a rock and went over the hood, every bump is potential landmine right now. Unless you are totally jonesing for a ride, which I can understand we've driven 8 hours one way to ride in less snow than we have here now, I would wait until a couple more storms come through and then it would be more worth the trip. Here's a couple of pics from today, compared to the ones from Wed when the pow was up to the hood, it has set up quite a bit.

so is it normal on these to have to give them a little throttle to start them, once theyre fully warmed up?
also its like that throttle sticking saftey device (whatever you call it) kicked in on mine a couple times when i went to take off. it was just raining, its possible it was starting to freeze...are they pretty sensitive?
hope that doesnt get worse...
i have taken some slack out of the cable from where the dealer left it. he left like a quarter inch of movement before it tugged, i took it to like 1/16.
this sleds an animal in the fresh stuff! breaking trail, just lean to turn, even sitting down! always rolled my eyes at guys who say sleds are getting like motorcycles, but this 17 m cat does remind me of a bike.

Mine did that a few times too. Start it up then it cuts out when you get on the throttle.

I switched to a finger throttle which meant disconnecting the TSS and it hasn't done it since.

Before doing that I'd have to reset the computer (cut the sled then start it up again).

Third ride today and am digging this sled more every time I ride it. Best sled I've ever owned. Got out into the trees today, even though conditions are still low and you have to be careful this thing is a beast. Rides lighter than my Pro's and carves like no other.
