It was nice meeting you folks at Four Corners today, hopefully the next time I will have it groomed for you. Still it was a very nice day and a great ride.

It was great meeting you guys as well! I think we are actually going to be headed up again today about noon I think.

Great pictures and welcome back, no better way to see God's country than on a sled.

There HAS to be a back story here.
EIGHTEEN YEARS and then all of a sudden back in the saddle again?

WHAT HAPPENED???????

Ok so the story goes

When I was a kid my gma owned a cabin in island park. She lived in Pocatello, and I lived in Blackfoot. Every weekend on her way to the cabin she would pick me up. Started riding when I was prolly 5 yrs old, and continued till she passed in 95 when I was 12. ( I'm 30 now) My aunt ended up with her sled and it sat in her garage under a cover. We moved to boise for my dad's job and haven't been since. I have always had the bug to ride again just didn't have the means to buy all the gear, sleds, trailer, etc. so on my way to rebuild my crappy credit I bought an 04 excursion at a way to high of an interest rate. After about a year of paying on it without a late payment I decided to refinance the beast. Ended up borrowing 3k to buy a sled and trailer from some if the equity, and cut my interest rate in half at the same time. Got talking with my aunt and she told me that if I wanted gmas old sled that I can have it if I came down and picked it up. So needless to say that weekend we got in the truck, put new bearings and tires on the trailer and headed for salt lake.

Being a boat mechanic and wrenching on things from helicopters to ships I knew that an 89 indy sport 340 would be nothing to get running again and I was right. Cleaned carbs, new filter, fuel lines, oil, oil lines, flushed out the tank and she fired up on the 4th pull.

Man I didn't realize how much I missed it till I put my legs over the sled and took off up the trail. Brought back so many good memory's from my childhood. I am so proud to be able to share this with the family! The wife and or son have never had so much fun on snow as they did yesterday. After she got over her fear if riding next to a drop off!! Headed back up today for round 2!!

Awesome deal Villain. I too got back into it after a long hiatus. Mine was a 20 year break due to the Air Force. Traded in a sport bike for a used '09 700 RMK in the fall of 2010 and haven't looked back but my bank account is a lot emptier now.

Might want to make sure you get your 14 stickers on there...don't want to get caught without them at the trailhead and 85% of the fees goes to the snowmobile area of your choosing for grooming and etc........just saying..

great story and welcome back, no better way to enjoy the outdoors in the winter than on a sled, just have to get others past the Im gonna freeze my a__ off and when they realize they will be warmer and mostly be sweating in no time after riding a bit changes the whole outlook along with the fun it creates, Just need to get my wife to go out with me and realize the same rather then riding close to friends cabin where the warm stove is only 1/2 mile away. Lol

Nice pic, Enjoy. Wildcard

What is the price for registration on a sled? Never had to do it myself. I hope it's cheeper than my boat. Btw who is going out day after turkey day?

its 32.50 per sled and you have to show proof of ownership like title or last years registration

Up above Idaho city just cause its close for now. Got to get the toe rods fixed before I can ride again. Went to narrow the stance and the heim joints are seized in the tie rods. Both of em. Damn my luck.
