First ride from a Cat guy....

Went out Sunday to do the first break in ride and over all I am happy to report that I am not a bit sorry about my purchase.:face-icon-small-hap
There are a few things that I am going to change though.
1. Better Boards
2. Taller seat
3. At least a 2 inch riser.
4. Prefilter material over the Holz vents to keep the clutches dry..

Lovin the new ride....all I have to say is welcome to the dark side!! Isn't it fun to know the battle of two brothers lives on through our purchases? Keep us posted on any more feedback!:phone:

So the boards really need some work? Thought pro-ride boards would match BB...

hey thanks for the update on the holz, haven't put mine in yet but was thinking i was gonna add some pet screen to them but now i will for sure!!! so does this mean carls lied to you??? or maybe their just not used to our fine oregon pow;)

Yes, interested if the Holz vents let snow into the clutches/belt. and did it cause a problem, slippage, etc?

Thanks

I wouldnt say it caused a problem but it did make the belt squeal a couple of different times when I rolled to a stop. Also, the other sleds in the group were having wet belt issues also and they did not have Holz vents.

Look at that beautiful WHITE STUFF!

...yes gang Better Boards will outperform the stock setup on the PRO by a mile. WE KNEW THIS LAST SEASON DURING TWO MONTHS OF DEMO RIDING ON THE PRO. As of TODAY over 100 sets on Pro's already...the ride reports are trickling in and super positive.

Burandts group is getting the most early season time and they say....AWESOME

How about a footwell screen kit or something to help keep snow out of the clutch also...

why did you switch and how do you like the polaris?

pure

Seems Cat dealers are a dying breed at least in my neck of the woods. Have had the same Poo dealer for as long as I can remember so the brand change was an easy choice.
Only been out once and after I stop quit trying to ride it like a Cat I am sure its going to be a bad a$$ tree machine.

per your other post...yes I have a footwell block off kit coming for the clutch side...it will still vent air. Just the bottom half needs to be closed off and it will incorporate with the existing block plate frame.

One thing I should point out is with Better Boards on the PRO there is about twice as much evacuation hole size up front so the snow doesn't pile up in the well and get forced into the clutch compartment. The combo of both should be the ultimate.

Looking at your picture, if you would remove all that luggage off the tunnel and put on a packsack. you would have way less snow build-up. I think in that muck snow if your complaining then maybe we could switch snow conditions, mine amounts to 3 whole inches.:face-icon-small-ton

I wear a Dakine Helipro pack. You just cant see it in the pics since I am covered in something that you are lacking. SNOW!!!!:face-icon-small-ton
As for the luggage there is only one small Skinz tunnel bag up against the seat. Your snow will come eventually but in the mean time I will think of you this weekend when were out busting through fresh pow.:face-icon-small-hap
