First ride 2011 M8 BD RG Turbo

Hey everyone I wanted to give a quick report on the 2011 Boondocker RG turbo kit. I have this installed on a 2011 M8 162" Sno Pro. It is their newest kit with the mini intercooler and the secondary injectors in the intercooler. It also uses their new stand alone fuel driver board to increase the capability of the stock fuel pump.

I have some custom components to install on this build but I installed the complete kit just as Boondocker sent it to see how the kit would work as delivered. In talking with them they are more than willing and able to accomodate custom set ups but are focusing their efforts on providing bolt on kits that run correctly out of the box for the average consumer.

I ran straight 100ll avgas (mixed 100:1 for break in) and the stock 2011 head.
Our snow conditions only allowed for road riding at 2500-5000 feet so the elevation was extremely low for this fuel/boost set up.

The BD box comes pre-programmed and I did not touch the settings today.
I put 50 miles on it and an very impressed the performance. It ran excellent with no issues all day. The road riding did not allow for any extended full throttle running so the det sensor never triggered. I believe higher octane fuel would be required to run this set for real mountain riding below 6000 feet.

I will report more after the next storm when we can get it on the hill.

thanks,
Woody

Oops I meant it has the stock HO head and has not been modified or exchanged for the 07-09 version. Low end throttle response is better this way but even more important that the elevation, fuel octane, and boost levels are matched correctly.

You mentioned the fuel but what kind of boost numbers did you see on the road ride? This was a great build and I'm jealous you are riding already!

thank you. I actually ended up running much more boost than I planned. I do not have the EBC on this sled and have a turbosmart boost t. My intention was to have the boost t all the way open so it would open straight to the wastegate about 6-7 lbs. With the short runs and curves I could not really look at my gauges so I would recall my stats and then reset them. Probably checked and reset about 4 times during the ride. Boost was showing between 8.5 and 10lbs. After checking it out last night I concluded I had the boost t knob seated too tightly not allowing it to work correctly.

Second ride today 50 more miles. Rode it on a bunny hill not enough base to really go anywhere else. Sled ran great but was still building 10+ psi with the boost controller turned all the way down but not seated. I removed the gate from the inlet and that took care of it. I ran the same boost controller on my 2010 with the gate in so I don't understand why it would not work on this one. Also will need heavier weights for best performance above 8 psi. Overall very happy with sled but will need another storm or two to test in the steep and deep.

Bunny Hill test results on 100ll at 5000 feet
8 psi fast
10 psi way faster
11 psi activate det sensor need more octane

Thanks,
Woody

What is your afr showing you at 10 psi boost on the av gas?

It is hard to look down on short hill going that fast but it is under 12 so plenty rich. It is rich on the AFR everywhere on boost. I believe I will end up leaning it out a bit with this fuel but it runs great and I want to see what it does with more load on it first. (ie. steep and deep)

Good to hear you are able to run around 10 pounds at 5000' on Ave gas. I have the same setup at you....I too kept the 2010 head to help with lowend performance. Just waiting for my ECU to get back from Arctic (had to have it reflashed from hillracing back to stock) so I can get my first ride in with this setup. :flame:

should be no problem as I had a couple gallons of premium in there when the det sensor went off at 11 psi. I broke a front arm shock retainer so I putted back to the truck to get one off a spare sled and poured a couple gallons of pump in my tank while I was there. I used the 2009 style head on last years sled and this is way better but pump gas will be a no go.

I am not sure what you are asking but I try to run around 8000 RPM always.

And what spring costs on (clutching: springs/weights/helix's/other) Max RPM 8510 Normal?
Forgive that I write not clearly a niche through the Internet of the translator. The information I can will receive only at you.
Thanks for the answer.
Here at my options look, and write the opinion!

Hi!

I have changed a head of the cylinder block for 2009.

What parameters at clutching: springs/weights/helix's/other?
At me all is put from Boondockers. In a place with TURBO KIT it was delivered clutching kit.
With these installations (boondockers) my snowmobile goes 8510 RPM

Do you know how to get into advanced program? No, I don't know prompt please step by step.
I can't find this data (PSI L and PSI H) at myself in Control box that them to change. I find only it PSI apparently on a photo!
p.s
It is very heavy to communicate through the translator!)))))
Write me the mail I can not send you on mail the message

Look please at my options EBC at you same?
