Had a chance to ride my son's Turbo Nytro last weekend in Rabbit ears, Co. It has the Impulse set-up and a 162 x 2.5 track. Typical spring conditions with 2-3 inches fresh snow.
First of all I was very impressed with the turn key operation. Always popped right off, idled smoothly, and was very user friendly. I rode it some in tight trees. Driveability, and handling surprised me. Very easy to get around with, and yes, I know it was well set-up snow, but I can see it translating into very friendly fresh snow boondocking.
Now for the power thing! What a hoot! When you stay out of the turbo it is like riding a stocker, smooth low RPM engagement, good torque. But just ease the throttle open a little bit and hear the turbo start to spool ( easy to hear with that funky intake) when it is sucking good - Nail it and hang on! I didn't spend a whole lot of time on the thing and didn't do much for climbing with it (something about riding someone else's mega $$$ sled for the first time!) but I am anxious for next season already. Thanks, DJ.
You boys are really on to something with these turbos (as if ya didn't know)
Looking forward to seeing and riding more of 'em.
