First 100 miles on my Pro-RMK

Went out riding again today and turned over 100 miles on the odo. So far it's been great and felt stronger today than last week - probably because the break-in tank of gas/oil mix is pretty much gone.

I put the R&M Lightening vent kit on a couple of weeks ago, and put the Rush windshield on the day I picked up the sled.

I need to figure out some sort of hand protectors. Anyone found a solution?

Oh, here are a couple of pictures...

polaris hand guards

polaris hand guards work really well and look good. they are made to fit the pro

Those Pro's get better and better everytime I look at them. I'm sure you'll have a blast this year, enjoy!

i went with these hand guards and used polaris mounts, hand to cut and drill the handguards to make them connect to the mounts, but it works well.

I've used Cycra handguards designed for dirt bikes on my XP and now my Pro-Ride, they are super rigid and don't break in roll overs. They're designed to tie into the bar ends so you just cut them at the end of the handguard instead of bolting the end into the grip.

I like that rush windscreen...took mine completely off but it looks "missing". But missing is better then stupid in my book....They are even more stupid all smashed from roll overs.....Ended up with the Polaris hand guards just because there was no good mounting deal on the narrowed up bars.

The pro has a 2.5 hour break in code.

it allows me to wear thinner gloves, keep hands warmer from the deflection, i also like them went following a paddle track down a trail.

Don't the hand guards get in the way while mtn riding? This was my exp. from the past, but whooooaaaa my hands get cold!

So I'm down in the junk where I shouldn't be...about to get pitched into the creek I didn't know was there until I saw the 15' deep hole and the running water below... the trees are thick, I've just snuggied up to one on the left and need to just get my left elbow around the tree and hammer the throttle and lean in just past the tree...GO...and the tree comes alive, branches grabbing at my new riding gear, when suddenly a big branch reaches over and hits the brake lever - I go over the bars into the creek and look up just as the sled... well you know the rest!

...and my pinkie fingers sometimes gets cold too...

Gloves maybe??? I would snap off handguards every ride, unless they were strong....then I'd just break my wrists doing dismounts. :face-icon-small-ton

Haha...seems like everyting that could go wrong, did!

What about he powermadd handguards..they lookes great on both my Pro-x and iqr! They are the best looking guards IMO!

Been using handguards since '05 and won't go back to bare-knuckle riding ever again, especially with all the little whip-type branches we get to deal with riding here in the Midwest.

For me hand guards are 100% for wind block on the hand grips....I can't feel half my fingers on the left side and when I really get working can't feel much of anything on that side. The index finger never leaves the brake and even with guards will sometimes freeze stiff if I don't use it enough. I also need the FEEL on the throttle side for performance. That means thin high performance riding gloves that allow the heaters to work.

Once again for our riding conditions and style wind screens don't survive a day! Yep I roll through guard bolts/studs and blow off a block about every third ride but that is a simple fix...and way cheaper then windscreens!

I am THAT GUY who destroyed the "unbreakable" windscreen on the demo 03.5 Ski Doo REV many many moons ago. Never really heard much boorah after that day! Ski Doo marketing learned a valuable lesson. NOTHING IN SNOWMOBILING IS "UNBREAKABLE"!

With the new sleds iq raw and pro at least (my most indepth real world day to day experience now) you don't ever need to let go of the normal riding position for any reason other then a camara shocka!:face-icon-small-coo Once again your hands should never leave the grips..EVER! n Well ok sometimes in the heavy bush you gotta let go to protect your face!

BETTER BY THE DAY!

OH and those that don't think you need BETTER BOARDS on the PRO...just keep riding. YOU'LL GET THE IDEA SOON ENOUGH!

THIS SLED IS AWESOME..yes yelling like a happy little kid at Christmas. It's that good...or at least mine is. THANK YOU CARL'S CYCLE SALES
