Hey guys i swapped my bad motor out with a good used one this weekend. It will fire but i wont stay running. What could cause this? It just gets the headlight to come on then quits....pull it again and nothing. Stop and pull the plugs, dry them off and then try again and the same scenario again. Please help. Thanks in advance.

1. is it the same electrical in the motor?
2. is the tps hooked up?
3. what made the old motor go bad?
4. does it show a code?

The old engine let loose like most of the 800's that i read about on here. Yea the TPS is hooked up. No code that i know of, doesnt run long enough to tell. I resued my old harness with the new motor....used the injectors that came with the motor and I used the CDI that came with the new motor.....I also tried my CDI and get the same result.
Any other ideas?
is your throttle cable freeplay set right so the throtle kill switches are working properly?
Fuel-Check the pressure, make sure your ECM is the same color as your injectors, may be time for a filter.
Spark-Do you have spark?
Compression-probably good but worth a check for giggles

update...i think the throttle kill switch/freeplay was screwing with me...needs adjusting. Hold the throttle and it starts on the first pull. Thanks for the input! Yea i was referring to the ECM
