Finding a sled after a avalanche

Stupid ? , but was thinking how you go about this , i think i have seen beacons out they that have a smaller beacon ( snow bug ) on your sled the has a different signal. I have the ortovox S1 and dont think they offer this .

seems like a real bad idea. time is the enemy when looking for a burial victim. even if the sled beacon has a different signal, I would hate to confuse them even for a minute. F the sled. find the person.

$10K is nothing compared to a persons life!

Some people would spend the $300 on a beacon for there sled, and not themselves which is ignorance. If the person is fine, then id go back the next day and look for the sled...or just wait till spring.

worry about the sled later, but then if you want to find it after everyone is accounted for get a probe line and start probing. You'll hit it eventually.

The snobug only works with the SOS-SB beacon and it transmits on a completely different frequency. I would think the only way other than what was suggested above (spring :)) or metal detector would be to organize a probe line.

Yes thats the one , SOS-SB beacon , my buddy has one that i ride with , was wondering if i could get a snow bug as well and if i ever had to find the sled just use his main beacon.
