Anyone know if these are working now? I know there was a recall on them. Just checking to see if anyone knows anything yet.

Buy the original SPOT..............it has much better battery life if you use the tracking feature.

I wanted a SPOT 2 for Christmas and have been waiting for them to be re-released, I got tired of waiting and bought the original SPOT today on ebay. Apparantly there is a $50 rebate so they end up being around $49.

i heard from my dealer that i should have mine mid feb. they are expecting them shipping mid feb. and that there will be a good deal for the origonal spot owners to trade in, will wait and see

Just sent my Spot 2 back for replacement. I did use it for a month and sent out OK messages a bunch of times and they all worked except once. ( it did flash red that the signal didn't go out) The batterys did drain fast as they said the defective ones would. Other than that I was really impressed with the performance.

Look forward to getting the replacement. 3 months of free service for the inconvenience...
