Finally upgraded to HD programming!!!

And Holy Smokes is it aptly named I bought a 32" Vizio 720p about 3 years ago and more recently bought a 42" Vizio 1080p at Christmas time... but never upgraded to HD programming (from DirecTv) till today, boy I never knew what I was missing

3D, is overrated in my honest opinion. Too expensive, too little programming, not good for developing eyes (children), not good for you in extended periods of time.

HD is the snizzle. I hate it when I have to watch a NON-Hd channel now.

Borderline overkill..........However when I got back to MN I told the wife we needed one!!

Only overkill if you have a tiny room. Worst thing you can do is get a TV too large for the room, it will look like garbage.

Maybe you should have spent less time on the forums. True 1080P and a good source is something to see. Friends and relatives come over and can't believe the clarity sometimes. They go home and feel depressed with their HD set up.

x2. I agree with that completly. I won't buy a 3D tv, until they have them where you don't have to were the glasses all the time. They give me a headache.

The only place you can really get 1080p right now is on Bluray. Most of the HD channels are only 720p. There are a few in 1080i, but it's not much better than 720p.

Congrats on the Hd programming. You'll never go back. That's the only way to watch sporting events. Make sure your running HDMI, and you've got your satelite receiver programmed to the correct settings for your tv. It makes a huge difference.

I signed up for Direct TV this year and got a free Sunday Ticket. I am super psyched for football season. I finally have weekends off as well. Sunday I am doing nothing but planting in front of the TV (maybe riding later in the year... cough DVR!)
