Finally decided on 159x2. Gearing Help Please

Thank you to all who have helped me with all of my posts. I have finally decided on a 159x15x2 track for my 04 800 switchback (piped, flowrites, intake kit, clutched). Last year I rode a 144x15x2 at stock gearing (23/39 I think). Moving to the bigger track what should I move my gearing to? Again, thanks for all your help.

Just did this to my 2002 700 RMK went from a 144 to a 159 2.25.
I kept the stock 9-tooth driver, and went to a 19/43 with a 74-pitch chain.
I also did the hiflow intake with the two flowrites in the dash and added a MBRP can. I kept the clutching how it was, had to adj the carbs a little.
It works great top speed maybe 75ish?

Changed my 144x2 to 159x2.125 also. 2005 700RMK, was 23/43, now 19/43. This gear change did not require a new chain. Polaris approved the combination.

SLP Products; airbox mod, speedo air filter, single ceramic pipe and can, clutch kit, yellow power valve springs, V-Force Reeds, anti ratchet drivers, stab kit, tunnel extension, fox air shox. Talk to Dustin.

I'm not a fan of gearing a sled way down. The RMKs with that track on them came stock with 2.05 ratios. 19/39 would be what would land you at that ratio. I fun that ratio in anything with a 2" track no matter how long.

and i'm a fan of 20:39 for anything 2 inch or better, but you MUST have good air flow to the secondary.

to be fair, in tight trees the longer gearing does mean more heat and better performance. trade off is belts living vs performance.

Yea, but you, like me, have learned from the rental dude that gearing down is not the best thing for performance.

I guess I should try 20/39... just never had that combo in the tool box to stick in.
