final goodbyes to my friend on Sunday..

Sunday was a sad day, my friend that I just met 2 years ago has been battling Lymphoma cancer since he was 12. Clay was 20 years old when he passed. He recently went through a bone marrow transplant and it didnt take. Doctors told him to try another proceedure 5-10% success, on June 17 and Clay made a conscious decision to not get the treatments anymore..they gave him two weeks. He lived a short life but was as full as he could get it, always smiling even up to his last day. Another one of my friends which was his best friend said to him yesterday..."I will always love you" Clay replied "dont say anything you will regret and you can have my truck, bout time yah get something decent" and LOL. He was a character and I feel happy he makes me acknowledge how lucky we all are....never take life for granted!!!

You will be missed:beer;:beer;Clay Metcalf July 15, 1989-June 28, 2009

Sorry about your loss. We need more people like that in this world, I know how it feels to have to say good bye.

Tim..., that is rough! He must of been a hell of a man..., to keep his sense of humor up to the end...! We all need to laugh more! Thanks for reminding me that our time here is short! :beer;to ya till we get time to have a few togeather.

PM'ed ya!

give his family a hug for me; this hits home pretty hard. My Anna is seven and almost five years off chemo. Sounds like your friend touched quite a few peoples lives there, and even on Snowest. 'specially give his Dad a hug from me.

Sorry for your loss. When you lose someone close it really puts life in perspective. We should all be so lucky to have a friend or family to cherish.
Godspeed-

i am so sorry for your loss. that is too young. it is sad to think he was only 2 months younger than me. i could not imagine losing one of my friends! i would take a bullet for my buddies! things like this make you step back and make you realize that life is a great gift, make the best of it! i live by "live life to the fullest!". give his family a hug and give all your friends a big one too!

I am sorry, My freind Paul see's it like this he will be with you every where you go, he will now see the world through your eyes!

Sounds like an awesome guy. I have a friend with huntingtons disease that I don't get to see much. He's about 29 and lives in an old people's home. He doesn't have too much longer to live but is always cheerful. Makes me realize what I have! Thanks for sharing and I'll send a prayer for his family and friends!

:rose::rose:thanks for sharing your friend with us...our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends...:rose::rose:
