filter

You need the proper fuel line disconnect tool. It's a circular looking clamp-like tool that pushes against the spring inside the connector and then they release. You can buy a set of them for about $12.00 at Harbor Frieight. Napa also has a all in one tool.

Your talking about the tank side coupler. I'm asking about the fuel rail side that has a horseshoe style keeper held down by a 4 mm cap screw. The bottom side of the fuel line.

I think ill just cut out the old filter and put in a generic auto filter with hose clamps I know they'll hold the 60 psi cause I have two in the line already holding a t fitting to read fuel pressure

Let us know what you end up doing and post up some pics. I'm interested in some cheaper options

are you guys buying the $90 fuel line and filter or just cutting the filter out and hose clamping a new one in for $3?
how does the line come out of the fuel rail anyway? i had the 4 mm cap screw and keeper off of the elbow but it didnt want to pull out of the rail?

you have to wiggle it around a bit to get it loose from fuel rail.it is just the Oring on the fitting giving you a hard time.spray some wd40 and work it out.

I ran into this issue last year on my pro, I tried cutting the filter out like you are describing, unfortunately the factory hose isn't designed to be hose clamped, it is that super thin plastic type of hose and then has the cloth sheath over it. You could replace the whole fuel line with some fuel injected rated hose and re use the fittings, but I ended up just buying a OEM Replacement since it was still in warranty and didn't want that filter to cause a warranty rejection. But if I wasn't in warranty still, I would have.
