I just talked to a friend that rode this weekend and he was saying a fist fight broke out between a couple guys over somebody double parking! No pics but someone may have more info on this?? I cant believe it has come to this! I would be pizzed if someone double parked and blocked me in but a fist fight...... I am sure there are two sides to this story I would just like to hear'em.

u know it seems like with all the bad news in the media , the low snow falls (snowies) at least compared to last 2 years that it just doesnt take much to set things off .....i can tell u things are not as bad as the media thinks....this economy has been bad for 4 years but its just the last 6 months the media has got a hold of it and its snowballed.....just the same it wont be long and a bit of good news will come out and the media will run with it and happy days will be here again....with the parking post , its so easy for me.....i respect my fellow riders i always look closely to make sure the guy a head of me(if im parking behind him) can load his sleds when he gets back, and when im parking in front of a person i only take enough room for me to unload my sled .... and i never park illegal... and i appreciate the same as i am sure u all do ..so let it snow

Yep, I saw that guy double parked in the morning when we got up there, I was thinking what an a-hole. Then we get back to my truck with 4 sleds and some guys had parked right behind us so we couldn't load up. Luckly the guys were there at thier truck and we just had to tell them to back up about 10 feet. Why can't people just park respectivly and if you don't get there early enough, park further down the hill, it's not that big of a deal.
It was horrible at Green Rock yesterday. We got up there about 8am and had primo parking. First couple of trucks. Then we got back around 1:30 and the first 15 trucks on the south side were all double parked. All 4 trucks and trailers we were with were blocked.
I think I am going to just start parking on the other side. The double parking is always on the one side.
What ever happend with the parking lot expansion project they were supposed to do last summer! Must have been just a rumor.

What is up with all the double parking?? There never used to be a problem up there. We got blocked in a few weeks ago.

Really though, it is ridiculous that anyone would block someone else (who they aren't riding with) by double parking.
I can and have forgiven people for parking too close to the rear of my trailer, that just goes with the territory sometimes.
Back to the double parking - I've thought about doing it myself but only next to other trucks that are in our group but we weren't sure if it was legal and we were afraid that it would start a domino effect for people who had no association with trucks they were blocking in.

tinman took his wife and daughter back to the trailer about 11:00, so they could go pick up my wife and daughter to go skiing. we waited for him up by the lodge with the rest of the group. when he got back he said a guy had another by the shirt, and were exchanging words, where they were doubled up.

it sure would be nice if everyone could respect all those in any parking area, since we are all here to have a good time.

It was discussed and basic plans laid.
They have to make concrete plans and I believe they have to do an enviromental impact study. it's a senic byway so there are all kinds of stupid rules.

and they will have to get the bill passed by barrack obama...americas new mama.....and he is real busy these days so i look to someone on the forum here to stand up get up and go up to the top of green rock and be a parking lot greeter..........if u may have interest , but think u know qualify , just go into town and see how walmart greeters work...same thing just outdoors.........

Could the Forest Service or Sheriffs office do anything about this? Not necessarily take special trips up there but when they are up there and see it do something about it. It may be worthwhile to bring it to their attention.

Sure is sad that we can go from talking about a fist fight between a couple of immature men to end up talking about politics! as far as i am concerned the double parking is not a issue if you use your heads and space it out. better yet maybe parkthe south side at a angle. Id be more worried about the parking lot cowboys. Seen plenty people tearing around the lots too fast and seen a wildcat about lose it too. good thing the lot was as empty as it was then.

One thing our society is getting good at is "more me now" and lazyness. People need to put their own burdons on themselves, not others.
Get your lazy kiester out of the truck and ride the moguls along side the rode for another 1/2 mile or so. Or, drop the sleds off at Green Rock, drive back down the hill and park the truck, and walk back up the hill. If you're that tough that you engage in fists, prove it another way and walk up the hill.
I deserve to double park someone. Nice attitude. Great for everyone, especially a sport that is going to be decimated in the next 4 years with Barry and Nancy at the wheel.

You arn't going to solve the parking issue by fighting amounst ourselves. Like it or not, it will be a political result. As in, get off your azz and get a letter to the forest service asking for additional parking.
Double parking is a HUGE issue. Aside from being illigal it is flat out rude. Maybe you will understand a little better if you get up there early enough to park like you are supposed to only to come back and find some azzhat has blocked you in for a couple hours. Doubling up on someone is just rude and anyone doing it deserves to have his vehicle towed.

Today (i had to work) but my buddy keeps his sled on my trailer, he had today off went to go pick it up..found it was blocked in... I can understand these guys frustration. I get annoyed enough when it happens in front of my house, I'd be pissed as all hell if I decided to shoot out for an early morning session before work, got back to the car and found myself blocked in and unable to make it to work in time.. I'm not saying I'd take the same route..but I can see where they are coming from..

I don't agree with double parking at all, but what are the additional spaces on the south side of Greenrock for? They shouldn't clean all the snow on that side so it wouldn't entice people to dbl. park. Double parking is alright with friends, but thats probably when the trouble starts, people with no COMMON SENSE start following suit. Some people need to get a clue

there are not additional parking on the south side, it is plowed wider so that you can single park on both sides and still have 2 way traffic in that area. also the parking on both sides of the road is only for above the cattle guard. the lack of respect that is happening up there is beginning to piss me off. this weekend my wife was stuck a hill and i went to help her out, when some azz hat on a turbo nitro waited at the bottom of the hill. as soon as she was down and i was still walking on the hill back to my sled he came up and missed me by about a foot. i could not believe it. anyway..happy sleddin.
Last year I parked over by Granite pass couple of miles from Bear Lodge I was the first one there and when I came back there was ONE truck parked right behind my trailer.... There was two trucks in the parking lot all day mine and his..... WTF..
