FIBERGLASS clamshell - doing research, please chime in

What are people's thoughts on a fiberglass clamshell?
Why/Why_not...?
Pros/cons versus typical aluminum clamshell?

Basically looking at something like this (used):

Super handy trailers. I have a 2000 Triton Aluminum with cap and it works great. Very lightweight keeps the sleds dry. Has worked excellent for me. I may consider selling mine as I may be upgrading to a bigger trailer although it would be great to just keep it around if I could swing it. Message me if interested.

A good friend has one and likes it. The only problem is that open he couldn't start the sleds because of room. He put elec. start on his sleds and no more problems.

I've got one and will own it till I die. Only issue is they haven't made them since about 2002 or so, so everything you find will be nearly 15 years old or older.

I have a aluminum one that I really like. I do have several inside-out dents from when I forgot to remove the 2x4 wood block from under the track and I send it wailing against the back panel when I gas the sled to pull off. That might not happen with fiberglass. ?

One thing that SUCKS with these is if you get too much snow on top you can't lift the clam shell to open it. Make sure you have a good snow rake. It took me several hours one time after a weekend of snow then rain/ice to open mine. Sucked big time.

Have had one for years and love it. Not heavy at all, my trailer and clam shell weighed in at 1000 lbs. As mentioned above gets heavy to lift if there is a lot of snow on top. Also mentioned is that they are no longer made so the ones out there are getting to be a few years old.
