Felkers "setup"

Just wondering if anyone here has had Felkers in Loveland, CO, do their "setup" on a summit?

I am in desperate need of some clutching and am not about to spend serious coin and time going through clutch setups.

I was just curious if you have had them do a setup, how it turned out for you?

Wizard

I have the Felker set up..... Over 500 miles,,,, just 1 belt.. True,,,, he is the best. When you buy a sled from him,,,,, the setup is free. He normaly figures out the problems ahead of everybody else.. His setup will cost a little though, if he didn't sell you the sled, but worth it. He can build your sled with as much mod stuff & power as you can afford. No BS.

He knows his stuff and is loyal to his customers. If you didn't buy from him your sled could be sitting in the outside lot for a while. The guys/gals who bought sleds from him come first no matter what! Might be faster to get a DJ clutch kit.

Thanks for the help... exactly what I was looking for!

I kinda got that impression when I called up there yesterday! I know that Felkers does more than just clutching in their setup but I really don't want to wait two weeks for my sled, but will, if it is worth it. I can't blame them for putting their customers first, but I couldn't and can't afford a brand new sled.

Will jd's clutch kit do what the felkers setup would do as far as clutching? It would be quicker and I don't mind installing it... once!

The difference with Lynn is,,,, He will ask you how you ride, Hard & fast,,,, or like a goat... How much do you weigh,,, what sled do you want setup... It all makes a difference. He has hillclimber setups, & road setups for the XP's 154 163 147?.. Big wheels,,, port job. Shocks & springs.. Rear skid... It all adds up to a great running sled... I keep hearing how long it takes to get work done,,, If your sled is there, He will get R done.

Just a comment as an observer...I've been around Lynnn's sleds for years.
Bottom line, the guy is a tuner and nobody can take it away from him. He probably has over 100 state championships over the years in snocross (Xgames qualifier), drags, hillclimb (invited to Jackson Hole to compete and won), cross country (multiple I-500's), you name it, the guy has done it and done it well. Often times on less competitive equipment until Doo got their chit together years ago.

I respect him as a racer and world class tuner. The sled world has very few of these guys left anymore. He deserves to be in the hall of fame someday for his contributions to our sport. I can only name a few dealers left that have this kind of credentials and the names are big: Jack Struthers, Max Maxedon, to name a few..

My opinion only...

Hugs

Now if only Lynn would give out hugs when you drop off, pick up and ask him about his setup everyone would be happy:D

Trust me,,, You don't want a hug from the big guy.. :)

What do you mean he gave me one last Saturday....:beer;

Actually who needs a hug when the only problem with your sled setup by him is the handwarmers and the fact it doesn't come with a tree avoidance system!!

Well he did give me a hug once... You don't want to hear that story.. You didn't get the system??? New today... Radar system for trees. But it comes with the ball package,, all in one.

listen............I ride polaris and the guy still huged me.............
and even went throught MY shocks on my polaris.........on his time
-- late at night
--- in his trailer
----with his tools......... so I.........could race the next day ! he's not just a tuner-he's real good people too !

TOP SHELF ALL THE WAY !

After watching all the threads and opinion about the new sleds this year, it kinda reminds me of women...LOL

You could have the ole' steady girlfriend, kinda know what you're getting, maybe a little older styled, maybe a little heavy, but trusty....:rolleyes

On the other hand, you meet the new young hottie that just moved into town, she's new, beautiful, wild, lots of fun, but high maintenance. End of the day, she's worth it though.. XP's come to mind?::p

I rode Rocky's new gal the other day and yes, I was gentle. Have to admit she was a lot of fun...

Just wanted to put out an update... after worrying about the time issue I decided to take the sled up there anyway. Decided it was worth waiting and paying a little extra to have it done right.

Took it in on Monday morning and by Tuesday morning it was ready for pickup. So much for worrying about having it back for the weekend! Now I can't wait to ride it to see how big of a difference it will make!

Thanks for the info.
