One High Compression shock for sale, 10 bucks. Used once!

Got in an arguement with large tree, tree won! lol Story is, broke shock in two pieces and had to remove it or do more damage to panels. I drove for about 5k standing on one side and bit it hard couple times when steering locked up when a-arms compressed! Enough of that, did a quick measurement and started the FBM( Farmer built Mod). 1 hemlock limb, 15 minutes, litre of blood and was able to ride 25km out to truck at relatively high speeds! Any other FBM stories out there. Cheers, Rene.

Awesome pogo "stick" setup. Gotta do what you gotta do to ride out.

Yesterday I went on a charity ride for STARS and twenty miles into sixty mile ride hit a stump that smashed hood, split open front bumper, broke lower a arm and idler arm,so I only had steering to one ski.
We duct taped a arm together and zap strapped a log through ski hoops and finished the whole ride keeping people that had made pledges in my name happy.

ill try to find some pics, last year a fella here took out his left front end on a rock......spindle/arms/shock. took about 5 hours to get 5 miles back to the truck, up and down some good untouched hills, pure hell:face-icon-small-dis

the above post looks similar to what we had, except the left ski kept folding under if it had nay weight on it....

Cool Rene.
Back in the Trailing arm days.......broke a carbon trailing arm. Used my SOS shovel to replace the broken pieces, duct tape, zap straps and all was good. :face-icon-small-hap

Hey Rene thats a good one, you dont even need to bring it in the shop. Id think you could probly get the rest season out of that hill mod! We built a similar setup one time for Lance Bakers rear shock in his m10!

No pics but, had to sidehill with all my weight to one side out of Silent Pass earlier this year, buddy hit a rock with my sled and broke a lower a-arm, broke right off half way out. I was a little sore that night.

Good thread Rene, ..I believe that the saying goes something like this, ..."neccessity is the Mother of invention" ....lol.

TB, if you recall, we also built a nice spruce rear torque arm for Dean's T-RX1, (Climbmax's old sled), we were back on Frisby Ridge at the time.

Like RS, (Climbmax), stated, ..we did several of the trailing arm splints over the years tas well.

Tie straps, duct tape, rope or straps, a saw and some ingenuity...., all in good fun!!

Cheers

CR

Nice McGiver'in there Rene ! now that's using mother nature to her fullest potential. litre of blood ? did you saw into your finger whilst harvesting that shock out of the bush ?? ouch.

Ya, those SOS saws are crazy sharp! I was squaring off the ends and the saw slipped out and it went to the bone on my thumb! Should have been wearin my gloves!
