Any body know what happened up top of Fairview today? Saw lots of red and blue lights pass us going up the canyon. Hope everyone involved are okay.

Probably everyone attacked the UDOT crews when they finally showed up. The parking lots were TERRIBLE.

This must have been your first ride in fairview this year. The lots were FANTASTIC compared to how they have been this year. The 10 days around christmas and new years you couldnt even get a truck in the parking lots.

It was.

Took me 10 minutes to get in and get turned round.

Wish we could figure out how to get the state to pay attention to all the revenue we generate.

The search & rescue drove past us in the snow-cat down toward Miller's flat, but I don't know where they were heading.

Burned a full tank of gas, great day of riding. Just wish we would have had more powder.

A girl blew out her knee by the pipeline at Miller’s Flat. We had to guide in the Search & Rescue guy that was pulling the rescue sled because he didn’t know where the pipeline was.

What was up with that Biathalon south of Rolfson Res.? We came up on that herd of crawlers, some of em prone in the path shooting at targets, some scrambling along the trail, some standing and shooting at another bank of targets. That bunch didn't have any warning signs or range markings posted anywhere; there were no flags or spotters, only a few orange painted "X"'s on the trail. They must figure they own the place. Anyone boondocking the hills west of the flats was in their line of fire. Where are the riding areas that are marked "motorized transport only". Seems everybody but sledders can go whereever they please and do whatever suits them whenever they want.

Epic day, snow needed a little freshening, but all in all great conditions.

They were Boy Scouts...not exactly what I would call people that "figure they own the place". There are TONS of places to ride up there and they only took up a tiny spot (I only crossed their trail once on my way to Rolfson). Relax man and be glad that kids are out being active rather than rotting their brains on the internet or in front of a TV on a sat morning.

This is probably an example of not typing/posting before you know the facts. This group of Scouts has been holding this event every year down there for at least 20 years. Our club in Utah County used to go up and volunteer with them to help them make it happen. It draws hundreds of kids from all over to come and participate.

It's a terrific activity, getting kids out in the snow and shooting who probably never do it any other time in the year.

What amazes me is when snowmobilers figure they own the place and no one else can use it. The Scouts were setup on literally 5 acres in an area that only interests snowmobilers as a 'passing through to somewhere else'. Lighten up.
