Factory reflash and intake upgrades?

I have an 08 M1k sno pro that I bought new last november (holdover). This spring I had received a letter about bringing it in to have the ECM re-flashed and for some intake upgrades. I never did it because at that time it was starting to get nice, so I was getting out of the sled mode. Also, my sled runs fantastic! I have had none of the many issues I have heard are common on the 1000's, so I am very leary of what this re-flash could do to my sled!

So what do you all say, should I have it done? Or leave well enough alone? I heard some people saying its a good deal, and makes the sled run better, but I want to make sure! thanks for all input!

I had my 08 m1000 reflashed and I had to spend $1100 to fix what they did to my very well running m. it didn't run worth beans after the re-flash, went from pulling 7500 rpm to pulling 7000 rpm on the same clutching. pulled my y-pipe and put the stock one back on and it still sucked. had a friend do his and he dynoed it before (167 hp) and after (154 hp). I have mine running pretty good now after a $550 fuel controller, $550 egts, and a couple rides of tuning but I think AC decreased the ignition timing to loose that much fuel in the top. I only have a y-pipe and stinger and I had to add 20 points on the controller on the top end, that is like going up 5 jet sizes!! I have heard of some people liking it but it seems like they are turbo guys and this makes sense due to the timing retardation and they have to use a controller anyway. my experience, I wouldn't do it.

Had my 08 reflashed last winter and about the only difference I noticed is it didn't backfire when I shut it off. Can't say it ran any better or worse. They did add more intake venting and plugged the hole around the muffler. Mine was still under warranty so thought I'd better get it done. :beer;

The re-flash is the identical program that will be in the 2010 M1000, that is word coming directly from the an engineer at Cat. The re-flash would give you the programing for the new electronic reverse if you wanted to upgrade to that. Just some info for what it's worth.

i still have the original 07 mapping. Was wondering the same if i should update? Going to be running a pump gas turbo this winter.
