Facemasks?

Why is it that every bloody time I git a new facemask the things are made for some 8 yr old!

Forget my screen name - I am NOT the size of an ox. I doo NOT have an oversized head. (Or enything else for that matter) Yet I haven't bought a new mask in yrs that fit comfortably! Some need turned inside out so that some big honkin' seam doesn't rub on your nose all day, so you run around with the seam out. Not that me and my chumms are in a fashion competition by eny stretch. (pun?) But still, I don't like to run around with my tags hanging out either...

Even at that tho - the things are so tight I am expecting to cut off circulation to my nose, or rip them.

So I end up wearing some heavier / older mask if I can find one.

Knowing that I am NOT at the top of the head size chain - what on Earth doo the rest of you doo for masks? :face-icon-small-sad

I have been running the under armor one for two years now and love it. It's a little tight but forms to your head nice. The seams don't bother me too much and the front folds up and down real nice. Only down side I think they are 20 bucks.

I have a Klim facemask. Don't like it at all. The material and the way the seams are is not very comfortable and digs into certain areas on my face/neck. I have tried almost every brand (Klim, balaclava, Ops, Arctiva, etc...)

The best facemask I've found that's the most comfortable and can use with my 661 vest and avy beacon strap not digging into my neck is the Arctiva windbloc dickie balaclava. I also have their pro-stretch, and it's also a very good balaclava. If your head is bigger than 7 3/8" then get the Large/XL. If smaller get the S/M.

Timing IS everything aint it?

Just opened up a Snow-Goer mag (?) this morning and saw a page or two comparing several masks. Haven't read it yet, but may tonight.

A) The stitching should be in the BACK of the mask!

B) I have a few heavy masks that are fine. (some dating back to the 70's!) It seems the lightweight ones are what is so tight. :face-icon-small-sad

I doo that sometimes too, but I R&R my helmet a lot. And going on and off over my ears starts to rub them the wrong way after a while. Let alone the sweat gitting into the helmet...

I like a real thin one on at least if I can git a decent one...
