f/s 1050 w/c base triple very nice sled

what is it worth? I want 8000.00 for the sled. It is located in Butte Mt. you can call 406-490-0176 for complete info. There is not a better looking edge triple than this one. Factory air box, triple rack with oem choke,complete engine gauges with track speed and memory/playback. These motor make 225 hp very easy and are not time bombs. They run smoother than a 700 twin. This sled is set up with all of the high dollar parts you want in a 225 hp machine. Dick Erlandson custom built and tuned 4 tower clutch and a cat secondary with a adjustable helix. This combo runs very light springs and weights for very good belt life. No bumps or cracks never wrecked. Very clean.w/c 1050=8000.00=225 hp OR new m8=9000.00+ turbo=5000.00 14000=225hp plus race fuel and yearly repair. 1050 is a good deal. UBR 1050 was 7350.00 engine only.

Ok first not bashing,just food for thought..I would love to have the motor in this...for my 08 rmk I just got for $4200,which I can add boost for $3000 and have 200hp+,yes race fuel, but I can ride alot for $800 in fuel.


well apples to apples it is used older style chassis..you can buy used new stlye rolling chassis fo $2000-$3000 and buy a WC triple out of the engine part of swap meet for $2500-$3500 complete. so with a few more bucks to have pipes fitted your still$1000 less building it yours self with new style chassis..also have you looked latey to the forum's to see how many 200+hp sleds are for sale much much cheaper..there are a few for half as much that are not selling.I had thought about a BB triple when I was shopping but I really want the newer style chassis..so I found one cheap as I could that I can ride right now and I will either boost it or drop a wc trip in it when I find the right deal..either way I will have less than $7000 in to it.

you asked..... I was in the recent market and this was the why's in my decision and the crappy economy is not helping either.

Not bashing either, but lets see you put ANY triple in an RMK chassis for less than $8000, not going to happen. For starters, the pipes are to hard to fit. that is why everyone uses the IQr chassis.

how is not going to happen???it not going to cost anything if I fit the pipes my self...4200 for the 08 sled,2500 for WC motor complete with pipes last time I check that is only 6700 and that would be less than 8000.no craig you just dont have the skills,it is why you have be a hack mechanic to pay for your toys.I will wheelie by your shop when its done.people use race chassis because they are race chassis.If they can stuff triples in revs I will get a triple in the rmk or like I said I just might boost it.same cost.either way same top end power,new chassis less than $8000..and really it will be less on the boost end as I would be buying the whole sled to get the turbo out of and I can part out the rest.real bottom dollar once parts are sold would be close to $5500 total for boost..but I really want a WC,for full power band not just the high end boost gives.

Put the WC triple in the RMK chassis. I'm sure you have the skills and your home made pipes will be tuned awesome. When you are done, bring it over, I'd like to check it out. I also like WC tripples, but being a C+ rider, I stick to building Sweet IQr's. Zippy, I'm sorry to debase you tread. TTT for a sweet, clean WC triple.
 
Well I guess that answers my question. It is a great sled, and if you know how much time it takes to put a clean sled together. you would understand why I am not selling for 1/2 the price. I do understand the chassis issues. New is always better. It is all a personal preferance. Thanks to the few sweet and honest fellow sledders I will gracefully let this walk down the list with no more ttt.

Not going to cost anything if you fit the pipes yourself?? Have you fit a set of pipes before? your equipment (if you have any) did cost something, whats your time worth? what if you mess up a pipe, what if you dont know wtf your doing and take to much volume out, and it runs like chit?

and a boosted sled for 5500 with a $3000 turbo kit? (in a newer chassis since thats all you will ride that you paid 4200 for)???? WTF?!?!?!?! And IMO you can build a budget turbo kit for around 3K the only problem is that its bare bones and wont run with kits with all the bells and whistles, trust me on this one, ALL BOOST IS NOT CREATED EQUAL!

WC tripples wont fit in the IQRMK's or the dragon/raw chassis either skidoo know it all boy!

the only thing correct in your statement was the powerband between a WC vs. a turbo sled, (more bottom end but most turbo's will make more track speed depending on boost level and altitude)

go hyjack someone else's ad!

Thanks mattymat!! People don't understand the time it takes to build a sled that is clean and stock looking. This sled will drive with way less under the hood time than any turbo could ever dream of. I have many freinds that are all getting away from turbos just because of fuel. Sled will stay for sale for now but I wil keep riding it. Got to love an open forum
