F-150 with 6.5 bed

I have been reading non stop and I know the 3/4 ton or 1 ton truck is better for a sled deck, towing, etc. but just wondering if anyone has any experience with the new 2011-2012 f-150 with the 6.5 bed and if anyone has some feedback on a sled deck on this truck and also interested in towing a 2 place enclosed or non enclosed trailer or would that just be stupid? Any comments and tips would be great but I'm really interested in the half tons because of the price but just found out today ford offers a 6.5 bed. Thank you

Looks like it depends greatly on the configuration & packages on the truck. I was looking on Ford's website and a 12' F-150 has from as low as 920 lb payload all the way up to 3120 lb. payload. Looks like you'd want the Heavy Duty Payload Package if you're interested in running a deck. It brings the GVWR all the way to 8200. I wouldn't worry too much if my truck was rated for 2000 payload to run a deck. But hell, I haven't even driven a new F-150.

If you get that far, I would suggest running 10 ply tires. They decrease the body roll a bit over the stockers, or 6 ply's.
