Getting a f 150 1994 it was a v6 but when they rebuilt the engine they but a v8 in it. Has 50,000 on the new engine. The truck runs good but shakes a little bit. Any help would be great or maybe and proplems you think might happen down the road.
Thanks snowesters.

Shakes when driven? Check all 4 wheels for balancing or bent rim, as stated also wheels bearings as well as tie-rod ends, ball joints, universal joints on the drive shafts (if 4wd) & stabilizer bar/shock on the front axle all for play.

The F-150 loves their ball joints.

When does the vibration start. At a given speed does it go away or keep getting worse?

What do the tires look like? Are they cupped at all?

Lots of things could be causing the vibration.

sounds like its missing to me. is it 5.0 or 5.8. If its doing it when it idles, it sounds like something to do with the engine. Intake gasket, spark plugs, fuel delivery.

Did they put in efi or a carb? vaccum leak??? if its efi you can scan for codes. the obd1 system leaves a lot to be desired though...

The owner bought it from a school who rebuilt the engine so he does not know all the details. only reason buying it cause get deal but I do know it needs work on it

Check to make sure the plugwires are in the correct order and the timing is correct. Make sure the spark plugs are good. not fouled and firing.
Make sure the idle is set at the correct speed.
Look and listen for vacume leaks. My help to spray some wd-40 on the vacume hoses. If the engine misses or stalls while spraing you found your leak.
Hope this helps
