EZ RYDE suspension setup?

Looking for help with the setup of my rear skid. It's an EZ RYDE on an 07 Apex 310 turbo and 163X2.5" track. I'm 280lbs all geared up and I can't get this thing to stay down! The rear shock is as tight as it goes and the fronts been pulled up a little bit already. The front shock is set quite loose also. Got the boost turned down right now to 13-14lbs just trying to manage this, but it's not working! I want to turn it up to 17-18lbs but that's never gonna happen if I can't get this ski lift figured out! Any and all input/suggestions is greatly appreciated.:yo:

sorry to say , but get a different skid , the ezryde is a great riding skid for the trails , not for high HP mountain sleds:sorry:

They will never be an M10/racers edge but they can be made better.

Set the front shock to the lowest compression and make sure the lower mount of the front shock is set as far back as possible.

It comes with a 180 rear spring, last year I tried a 225 spring and revalved. It was way better but on steep climbs in deep snow it would still lift too much IMO. This year I put in a 275lb spring and have yet to try it.

On 225 i had the rear spring full compressed on setting and decompression was also at max. I am hoping with the 275 I can actually back both of these settings off a bit. On the other hand if its too stiff might make the bumpy trail unbearable.

Shock bushings like to fail and the skid will hunt, also keep an eye on rear axle it can have a tendency to bend.

I change all the bearings on it every year as well.

Only failure i had was the shaft that hold the lower front shock had a bolt come out and it wrecked the shaft. I red loctite all the bolts and check them all every ride.

Sounds bad but its still a decent skid.

I had this problem with my skid i was told to move the rear bottom shock shaft forward 1 inch this fix the problem it was a different skid then yours. you might want to ask if this is possible with yours.

I have spoke with Christian numerous times he has never mentioned that.

Mine is the newer 09 skid 162

Had you same issues a few years ago. Save yourself the aggrivations, sell it and get something differant. Or turn the boost down. If you can settle for around the 250horse power range you'll be very happy.

Crappy, not really what I was hoping to here! Thanks for the input fellas.

Iam running the 174 ezryde in my nytro with 280hp and my skis stay about a foot off the snow no matter how steep it is

Dont be scared of the EZ ryde, just expect some set up time and dont expect to ever be as good as an m10 or racers edge for super steep/deep climbs. It works just not as good.

I just followed the install instructions but I did lower the back mount 1 inch. Hopefully this helps

I am confused. The rear shock has 2 attachment points, upper/tunnel and lower skid.

Did you mount the upper attachment 1 inch lower or 1 inch back to the bumper? If it was the lower mount are you saying that you moving it back towards the axle? That would give a flatter spring.

I am guess you moved the upper mount down thus giving more nose pressure?
