EZ Ride Suspension Reviews

I can only compare it to a stock M suspension, and it is a big improvement. I need to get it dialed in better, but the 141 is 9 to 10 lbs lighter than the stock, and sucks up the bumps 10 times better. The only thing that drives me nuts about it, is that I have to run the track a LOT tighter and because of that I have a more rolling resistance.

I was talking to the owner of timber sled last winter during the schwietzer hill cross race and he slipped up and told me that that only suspension he thought was better then his is a EZ ride! Take it how you want.

You have to look at the cost as well. Both the Holz Alpha and EZ ryde are around $2500 and the Timbersled can be found through 4M members (re-sellers) here for $1700. To some, they would say "who cares about an extra $800", but for me that is a heck of a chunk!

How much tighter are you running the track, does it still let you bring the front up for pow riding or is it only for big power and steep hills. I like the suspension just worried it wont have enough transfer to ride the deep pow in the trees.

I am also interested in how the EZ-RYDE performs on Dragon RMK's. Wondering if anybody has any input and/or pics.

It is a LOT tighter. With the stock skid, with the rear end up off the ground, I would have about 3 to 4 inches of sag from the track to the slide rails in the center. With my EZ-Ryde, there is no sag whatsoever. I was told that the way the suspension works however, is that when there is weight on it the track is looser than when it is suspended in the air. I have noticed that my motor is working a little harder all the time because it doesn't roll as easily as the stock did, but not a huge difference. You don't have a limiter strap to adjust the attack angle on the EZ-Ryde, but you adjust that by which mounting whole locations you mount it to in the front. They give you a plate to rivet onto the tunnel with 3 holes, one on top of the other vertically. By moving the mounting bolts in the front down (lower in the tunnel), you get less ski pressure, and by moving up (higher in the tunnel) you get more ski pressure. What I'm saying is that you can adjust it just like tightening or loosening the limiter strap on the stock suspension to where you want it.

If your riding a stock suspension I will say without a doubt 100% there is no comparison. I have ridden stock skids with high end shock for a long time. Last year I rode a holz, timbersled and a kmod and without a doubt I liked the ez the best. I bought one and you cant compare stock in any form to the ez. I felt it was just a big comparison with the three aftermarkets as well. I think the aplha would be the only skid to compare it with. It flat works. It is worth every penny. I LOVE mine. I will never ride another sled without one unless something way better comes along. Everyone that has ridden mine falls in love with it. Its hard to compare because in every way shape and form. In every snow hill or flat condition it just flat out blows stock and lesser mod skids away.. Take it for what its worth. Its just my opinion.

KMOD ALL THE WAY!!!!!

I have heard that it is the best bump absorbing, ski pressure applying suspension in the industry. That is why Shain Stanger runs the Kmod because it is simply the Best!

Ordering my new Twisted Kit next week.

Dude Don't Hijack this thread...Save your Twisted Kronie BS for someone else:mad:

I have an ezryde. I love it. They love speed and HP.

My Pros:
Amazing stability and bumb soak. Makes all the old tracks on a slope no concern. Stutter bumps on the trail are no biggie.
Great climbing control.
Snow doesn't pack in too much(holed track helps alot too)

My Neutral:
Don't like the track tight, but it doesn't hold me back at all. It's obvious it loosens as it works.
Takes a fair amount of maintenance, dissassemble every year and new plastic bushings.
I often wonder if there shouldn't be a tunnel stiffner like an M10 has.

My Neg:
I have watched my buddy derail his, but as long as we keep the track aligned no probs.

Im running a ZBros EZ-Ryde on an 08 TD8 163. I am really happy. I came from an M-10 on the same sled so I wasn't just noticing the improvement over sfock. It controls the skis really well, soaks up the bumps well and was EZ to install and tweek. Send me a PM with a phone # if ya want to hear any more details, I type way too slow.

can you get just the EZ without the shocks and get the exits later? or buy the EZ with the exits from EZ??? how much?

I have 2 EZ rydes, love them, there have been countless posts about this subject. I cam off a Holz coilover that either worked well in powder or on the trails, but could never get the performance I wanted in both situations without a lot of fiddling. This is simply not the case with the EZ ryde, its works very well in both situations with maybe a few clicks on the rear shock.

Funny story about how we wound up with 2 EZ rydes. Riding a very rutted out trail out of the hills one day, I swapped sleds with my wife to compare the difference. We made it about 2 miles before she pulled off to the side off the trail and shut the EZ ryde equipped sled off. My mind jumped ahead, thinking there was a problem with the engine or something broke, I walked up and asked is something wrong? She said No, so I asked her why she stopped, she paused for a moment and then pointed to the EZ Ryde and said I will have one of these before the end of the year. I kinda laughed and said Ok dear  She caught my attitude and said thats fine. I will ride your sled and you can ride mine until U have an EZ. Smart guys know what happend here...... the wife got her EZ ryde.

The EZ ryde can be purchased through Zollingers with the Exit shocks for $2,999.00 The shocks are also available seperately for like $1300 for the pair so purchasing the EZ ryde with them installed saves you a considerable amount of cash.

Apparently the 09 and new skids have addressed the issue with the track having to run so tight. I installed the skid a couple months back and have zero seat time on it.

The timbersled may appear cheaper but the ez ryde is a full skid not just suspension guts. On the TS if you add rails, axles etc. the price is pretty close. On boosted sleds I have been disappointed with TS performance hopefully ez ryde wont also fall short.

I dont understand the big deal of running the track tight with the EZ ryde? Once you sit on it it loosens up a bit. Oh yeah put any decent amount of HP to the track/ground, guess what the track does on ANY SETUP, gets tight as a banjo string up top and loose underneath no matter how tight or how loose you run it.

What you dont want to happen is uppon compression of the skid is the track to go tight, why do you think M10 has a LIVE REAR AXLE? to try and help overtightening of the track when the skid compresses, thats why they dont transfer! Have seen busted shafts, bearings and snapped tracks because of this.

Ask anyone who has done REAL sled drag racing testing with a loose track vs a tight track, ice/grass/tar whatever, guess what will yeild quicker ET's??? TIGHT!
