Extreme front bumper over skid plate

On my RMK I have the polaris skid plate. Last spring I bought a Polaris extreme front bumper. Fitment says it won't fit with skid plate?
Seems to me the thickness of the skid plate shouldn't affect mounting, other than needing longer rivets to go through. Actaully had thought of using self tapping screws instead of rivets. Probably want them not too strong, better for them to shear off in case of impact VS stressing (cracking) chassis?
Has anyone mounted this Polaris bumper with a skid plate?
Any insight would be appreciated

Put one on at the end of last season - fit fine .... 2015 pro

I put a Polaris Extreme front bumper of the top of a Skinz Float Plate, dealer gave me longer rivets, a little pushing and pressure to make all the holes line up, but it worked great. Looks great.
