Extented Warranty??

I am considering adding extra warranty. $1740 for 4 more years sounds like alot of $$$$. But, considering some of the problems with the 11 and 12 pro engines, it might be worth it. Even if only for the piece of mind it gives me. I think it works out to be around $450 bucks a year.

How has Polarstar treated you guys? Is it a scam that takes your money and fights you when you have a claim?

I am kind of leary of aftermarket insurance companies. Lots of fine print. They sound like a great deal, until you really find out what you get when you need it.

Just went through $18,000 worth medical bills and had to fight the insurance every step of the way.

Lost my butt on that deal.

Does your dealer sell AfterCare? Its 599.00, zero $ dect for the same 4 yrs.
599.00 is a little easier gamble then 1740.00

I had good luck with my Polaristar warranty. Scattered a motor last season, broke a skirt and it went through the case. Took it to my dealer and had a brand spanking new motor 2 weeks later. No questions asked. I saw the receipt for the motor and labor. It was close to $6000 and I only paid $50. It does depend alot on the dealer though. Some dealers are much more willing to help than others.

I stopped by my dealership yesterday and went straight back to the shop area and talked with the mechanics. I asked how Polaristar treated them. They all were pleased with the service from Polaristar and said that usually it was a no questions asked deal on warranty work.

I went up front to the sales dept and talked to them about warranty and the sales manager said there was a rebate on the $1740 for $300. $1440 for 4 more years of protection sounds pretty good considering it is transferable and I could probably increase the value of selling my used sled in two years by at least 1/2 that much.

$360 a year for the piece of mind.

It is only 4 years total for the warranty they offer. The warranty starts from the date you bought the sled, so if you had a two year warranty it would only be another two years. This is what I was told by a few polaris dealers when comparing prices of warranties.

I think your dealer has some extra margin built into that price. The dealer where I bought my '12 quoted me $750 for 4 years for the Polaristar warranty.
