EXPO 2013

This was the first time I've been to the expo in about seven years. It seems to me like this event is dieing. The crowd seemed pretty small. Also seemed like fewer exhibits than I remember years ago.

I went there looking for a big wheel kit. None to be had. If you wanted sleds or clothes you had a choice. SLP had some parts. XXX Mods had some goggles and lens and vents. Lens for 509 cost more then you can get online with free shipping. Never again.

From what I have heard over the years this event just keeps getting less and less interesting to the majority of the sledding community. I sure hope they do something to revive it, revive the excitement and spark some interest. Unless your participating in the races it sounds pretty dull? thoughts?

This has been an issue for years...I can't believe the powers that be in charge etc....just don't get it!! USED to go up and spend $$$$.
Good news is Hillclimb moved up a week so there is no "dead weekend" anymore.

definately seems to be getting smaller, been goin the last 4-5 years and seems like they lose a couple booths each year. the 4 sled companies, trails west, xxx modrods, slp, couple snow bikes and a bunch of clothes was about it.

They where warned by many vendors that something had to change to bring us back..Tents dripping water on booths, Hrs that really didn't make much sense,Price tag that was a bit out of line. They thought we where full of S..Well guess what, we haven't gone back, neither have most others that where not satisfied.

$1200 Sno-suit???

I would pay the price of admission just to see the new $1200 KLIM sno suit, for that kind of money it has to be something pretty special.

May be it comes with special super hero like cape, so you can fly?
OR, it may has skis & a track..., completely doing away with the need for a sled
OR, it's bullet proof, rendering gun control obsolet.
One can only wonder what a $1200'sno suit can do....., what are your ideas???

It is not even close to what it used to be but I always have fun. I always see people and friends that I haven't seen for a while. Talking to people that enjoy snowmobiling, as much as I do, is why I go. If you are soley there for stuff you will be dissappointed, when comparing it to what it used to be.

I probably get blasted for this but here goes. The town doesn't want sledders there anymore few years back they issued many parking tickets, charge more for space. It's not sledder friendly like it was 10 years ago. The trails get in worse shape every year I know it's not from more traffic thats for sure less motels open every year. Seeing more skiers on groomed trails we should stop them and see of the have a use permit to be on a groomed trail. If the town don't wake up the expo will be gone. I have went last 2 years and several in through last decade gets worse every year. The area has lost a lot of riders that go to wyoming because of less regulation on trails. I know of several small business owners that got tired of fighting for sledders in town they just sold there business's and moved on or retired early.

Had'nt been to EXPO in 4 years, I would have to agree it wasn't as
thriving as it was before. Lack of snow may have played a part?

The free style big air show had some good riders. I didnt care for octane addictions sucking there sponsors d!cks dry,
get on with the show all ready. Just because your new sponsor flew in from Florida....blah blahwho cares get on with
the show or you will piss the spectators off!

Still a fun place to go for the weekend.

I've been there for all the years, it's just sad. I've repeatedly told them they need a hillclimb. Forget snowcross, it's dead. Get the factory dealer shows back, that was a fantastic year. Maybe history should repeat itself, ice oval anyone?:face-icon-small-sho

Probably just your basic blue suit...red cape and a big red K on your chest.

Overheard at the Montana Sled Warriors booth this weekend at Expo.....

An elderly fellow from Eagle River Wi. came by (our booth) and one of us made the mistake of asking where Eagle River was. He said "it is so far off the beaten path that our only prostitute is still a virgin"<O:p</O:p
