expandable deck ???

so i thinking about building a project with expandable sides but i dont know anyone that has a deck with expandable sides to steal ideas from. Do they use a roller system or is just two pieces of metal fitting together kindof like a reciever hitch??? How many points to they slide out from? I would assume three. And if they do just use a reciever style slide, what kind of dimentions of material are being used??? any input or pics would be great thank Bill

Yeah, it's just slide together materiel. Like a draw hitch. I've seen it done several different ways. Mine is rectangle solid stock ruoghtly 5/8x 7/8 sliding on edge into tube slightly larger. It uses 5 connection points. My buddy used round stock the same way with only 3 connection points. It does not have to hold much weight really. Hope this helps.

I have a Bulldog deck and it's made just like describe above. T he nice part about it is you don't have all the overhang when not in use.

I made mine with square tubbing.once it started to rust it wasn't worth the
effort to slide in and out.I see some aluminium decks have some kind of plastic for the slide areas which wold be alot better.

I think i would look under a 5th wheel camp trailer at there slides and the little motor that runs them in and out. It is a very simple system and those slides are heavy.
