exhaust valves...too clean?

My buddy was working on his 04 800 rev last night, he pulled out the exhaust valves for the first time. Sled has around 3500 km and the valves had zero carbon. They had lot of oil on them and the alumimun wasn't even discolored, I know they worked because the bottom of the valve had wear marks. I have seen many polaris and cat valves but never seen them that clean. Is this common on the doo motors?

I have never had to clean mine on my 04 800 with over 3500mi.:face-icon-small-hap

I think it depends on your oil and how fat you jet.

My chumm with an '02 Pol 8 has a terrible time with build-up. He ran my Doo Dino oil for a while and at least he smelled better when he would be up front. Not sure how his valves did tho. ??? He has gone to the real high $ stuff since, but the only thing IMO that it has done for him is to stink a LOT more! (Pol oils stink like burning plastic)

On my '02 Doo with the Doo Dino oil, and some leaner jetting - mine seldom need cleaning. I doo check them from time to time - at least pre-season - but other than a little bit of carbon on the face, I just wipe the sides off with a rag and stuff it back together. Amazing!

I would think that a fuel infected motor would be even better.
