Exhaust valve giullitine chatter

How much "slop" should the giullitine valve have in the exhaust valve base? Have quite a bit, but never noticed until I rebuilt the top end in my '09 700 RMK. Before the rebuild it seemed to run smoothly. At start up after rebuild, a lot of what sounds like valve chatter. Possible that the higher compression from new pistons over 2000 miles on old pistons is causing valves to chatter from "slop"?

did you check your springs on your exhaust valves? I think moisture gets in one side. I had one clearly sacked out with rust and the bellows was pretty weak.
