Exhaust Temp Sensor

Should the check engine light flash if you unplug the exhaust temp sensor while the engine is running? How about water temp sensor?

Never tried it but wouldn't surprise me..the ecu wants to see something

I just tried this on my 9 last weekend...at idle, I unplugged it, and no CEL.
