Exhaust rubber

what is anyone doing under your exhaust can to keep the can from rubbing on the aluminium? the stock rubber is toast on my sled.

i know the stock rubber works,,, for a season,,,, but it just melts and you need a new one. anyone?

What kind of can do you have? I have an HPS can and have never had any issues with the stock rubber melting at all.

I run the HPS on mine to and my seal looks like new... I wonder what's up.

You are talking about the "orange" rubber that the can rests against that is on the bulkhead support behind it correct??

no,,,,, the black rubber gromet that go's under the can. between the can and belly pan.

No issues of melting or anything there......can you take a picture of how it fits in there and the issue?

i'm not gona take the time to post pic's,,, im a techieeeee idiot. all im sayin is the lower rubber is basicly gone. just an O ring left.

All i can suggest then is to get a new Rubber O-ring and replace. You should not be generating enough heat at the exhaust opening to melt that thing.

what the hell? that is something i thought other people were having happen to them as well.

anyone else having this happen to them? is my motor burning to hot? I'm rolling the Rkt head and pistons 14:1 seems to be running fine

I have run hps and slp cans on 2 different sleds for over 5000 miles and seals still look new. Sounds like it may be more of a vibration problem. Make sure all your springs are there and have some tension on them. Especially the ones from the can to the chaincase and the shock tower.

Can you post some pics of your can installed and the degraded piece? Might help having some extra eye's look at it.

i'm a non paying member. cant post pics. there is a little melted rubber around the outlet of the can and only 1 ring left of the gasket. this is my second gasket. ?????????????????????? maybe the can isnt seccured thight enuff with the spring from the chaincase. i will relocate.
