exhaust pop after shutoff

I have an 03 sks 700 that will sometimes give a popping sound after I shut off the sled. Is this a sign of being to rich and not all the fuel is burning up before going into the exhaust? I have slp flow rites and an air horn kit installed and am jetting 2 jet sizes leaner than they recomend.

POP

Could be. Check idle jets and air screw setting. If they are incorrect, the idle may have been set by cranking up the slider stop screw. That will leave them open to far when you let it go back to idle and could cause your problem. Also make sure the donut on the "Y" pipe is good and check for any exhaust leaks. If it allows air in the pipe at shut off, you will get ignition of any unburned fuel.

No, its not a sign of being too rich. Its a sign that there is a slight amount of fuel vapors in the exhaust pipe that ignites when you shut it off. Don't worry about it. It usually happens when you come to a stop and instead of letting it idle down you just turn the sled off quick. Not a big deal.
