Hi guys,
I'm working with my exhaust. I have found a problem with my exhaust pipe that mates up to the y-pipe. One of the four springs that go from the exhaust to the y-pipe has vibrated so bad it left a "spring impression" into the end of the exhaust pipe where that end goes into the y-pipe. This spring also bent the flange so the "donut" seal doesn't seat properly. The y-pipe isn't damaged.
My thought is to grind/file the metal exhaust flange back so I can get the exhaust gasket to seat. Next, I planned on welding in the area that the spring damaged. I'll then grind that even.
Anyone have a better idea? Am I on the right track? The vibration was from a bad crankshaft which has been replaced.
Thanks
