Exhaust Insulation

I finally found some new tin for the outside of the expansion chamber on my 1998 Summit X. I had tried header wrap in the past. It worked good but eventually went to k-rap due to vibration and the sharp edges on the sides of the exhaust. What does anyone recomend for the insulation that goes between the tin and the expansion chamber? It would have to be something that can withstand the heat of the exhust without melting. Thanks in advance!

My first thought was good ol' fashion fiberglass insulation..... Peel some layers off of a bat, compress it down, and cut it to fit the covers. Then I thought, why not just use actual fiberglass mat from the hardware store? Comes in different thicknesses, you could use chopped-mat, or weave...... I think that is the route I would try. Go to your local hardware store and see what they have that might work.
