Is there any reason to paint my pipes one color verses another?
BLACK VERS SILVER (ALUMINUM)??????????????
any advantage as far as heat transfer?
or snow cooling pipes down?
cant afford to coat so I have to repaint!

like the old saying goes, pay me now or pay me later....

best bet is to leave them the way they are till you can afford the proper coating. do it right and do it once. paint will not last period, and then when you want to do it over, they need to be blasted down to bare metal (higher cost again) to recoat them properly.

paint will make them look good until your first ride is over and that will be about it. even with high temp rattle cans it's just not worth the hassle. paint just cannot stand those kinds of temps and our type of envioronment (extreme temp swings). ski

i used the color gard titanium on my turbo header just have the pipes lightly sandblasted then i just warmed up the header & painted it on with a foam brush.the warm metal help the paint dry fast so it wont run you want a nice thin even coat.this stuff works just like the expensive ceramic coatings keeping the heat in the pipes.:beer;
