I'm about to get my pipe ceramic coated after giving up on the header wrap mess. Has anyone tried both? which one did you like better? I really like how the header wrap keeps the pipe hot but i'm tired of it getting loose and turning to dust under my hood. Well the ceramic coating keep the pipe hot on its own? Let me know your experience, cheers

I tried the wrap spray it helps for sure but i can only get about 700 miles out of a wrap. It always seams to work loose on the steep taper parts of the pipe. I soak the wrap in water and it seems to be tight but the vibration works it loose. Has anyone tried the titanium wrap? I would like to find a way to make this work, thanks for your help, cheers.

People say it depends on who does the ceramic coating how thick and effective it is. I have heard good things about Swain Tech. Anyone with experience know who does the best ceramic pipe coatings?

Thats a good idea, does the wrap start to wear threw the tacks? I think i might try some of the titanium wrap, its not fiberglass based so i'm hopeing it wont make a mess.

I ditched the wrapped pipe for ceramic coating and saw no loss in performance. It was nice to get rid of that nasty dust. I treated my wrap as well. It almost lasted a full season. I didn't like the rust that was uncovered after I peeled off the wrap.

I haVe used wrap and coated pipes on turbos for many years both have good and bad points. The rap is great for keeping heat in the pipe whici does help build power sooner and keep under hood heat down. The coating loooks great but does not help as much. If you have trouble with it coming undone try using moto safty wire good luck.

here is a pic of my porcupined pipe wrapped. Wrap was still looking perfect at the end of the season. The tack welds stop any movement of the wrap and stops the wrap from breaking down. Sorry pic is a little blury as it was -35 when taking the pic

Buddy of mine wrapped his twins on his dragon, I believe he used the titanium stuff soaked it in water pulled it super tight and then sprayed over top of it with some spray! So far it's been 3 years and to my knowledge it still looks new!

I pulled the aluminum shell off.
Used wire to secure the original insulation around the pipe, then wrapped it.

This really helps keep the underhood temps down.
