Evol R valving

So got to ride my new pro first time last weekend. Amazing sled. Walker evans were okay, but I thought why not mount 17.5" evol R's I had lying around. These evol R's were originally for a 2010 M8, then I had them revalved the start of this season for a 2012 Proclimb 800. I talked with Andy at Gas Shock Repair yesterday and he said he would just run them as is. He thinks the current valving in them might work just fine.

Anyone have any other thoughts on the valving? Where are you guys starting your pressures at? I was thinking 55-60 in the main and 105-110 in the evol chamber with the rebound clicker at 10. I'm 180 with gear on.

Already feels better on the garage floor, but that doesn't tell me much...

I also installed a set of cat evol-r front shocks on my pro rmk. I lost about 1"of travel. But I don't notice that. I am a backcountry rider and jumper. These shocks give me way more control than the stock assult walker Evans. I run 60-145 psi. Soft on top with good anti-bottom. Also installed carles cycle center rear shock kit evol-r with the zero pro center.... Wow whet a difference I absolutely can't wait to hit any jump with this set up. By the way my rebound is set at 8 clicks off full rebound

With stabilizer bar in I run 55/110 in mine. Kickback was bad so went to only 5 clicks out on rebound which is still fast enough to prevent packing down and really improved the ride when hammering the moguls at speed (7 clicks out is what Fox recommended). Earlier model Evol R's were at about 10 clicks out (middle) for the rebound so depends on your valving. Certainly easy enough to find out; just bracket tune (turn 2 clicks at a time so you can tell the diff and then fine tune one click at a time).

Have FUN!

my fronts are 8.5" at rest from the space directly between the a-arm assembly plastic to the floor...52 main-120 evol is my favorite front setup. I run 12 out and 9 out as my two primary clicker positions

rear is on a progressive rate Ti zero pro

rear evol is 65 125...but most importantly mess around with your pressures until you find a comfortable mix of performance and ride for your weight and style...the Fox Racing Shox system is super easy to tinker with and dial in for you preference. If you own em and you aren't happy with the ride or performance it's your own fault for not dialing them in. There is no absolute best you just have to play around until you find happy.
